Kia ora!

The New Zealand Guidelines Group (NZGG) Self-harm and Suicide Prevention Collaborative is designed to improve crisis care in emergency departments, Maori Health and mental health services in a way that recognises local situations, people and resources, and builds on the guideline for the Assessment and Management of People at Risk of Suicide.

This website is the place where members of our collaborative find resources, input and share information. NZGG is an independent not-for-profit agency that develops evidence-based resources for practitioners, physicians and consumers including:

  • guidelines that identify the evidence for a treatment associated with a condition with recommendations for practitioners
  • consumer resources that inform people of their options
  • evidence reports that feed policy and decision making in the health and disability sectors

Teams of experts that include physicians, general practitioners, nurses and consumers are used to develop these resources. Mäori and Pacific representatives are also involved in development.

NZGG has a comprehensive and up-to-date website which can be viewed at www.nzgg.org.nz
